5Fluorouracil Injection is administered via intravenous route by trained personnel for treatment of various types of cancer It shows effectiveness against colon ovarian stomach pancreatic and cervical cancers This injection contains 5fluououracil as active compound having molecular formula C4H3FN2O2 with molar mass of 130077 gmol It is a thymidylate synthase inhibitor which works by blocking synthesis of nucleoside that is essential for DNA replication 5Fluorouracil Injection can have bioavailability range of 28 to 100 with elimination halflife of about 16 minutes It gets metabolized in liver by CYP enzyme
