Description

Esmolol Hydrochloride Injection is class II antiarrhythmic agent which is prescribed for treatment of arrhythmia during anaesthesia, in early stages of myocardial infarction, and for terminating supraventricular tachycardia. Active compound of this injection is known to have chemical formula C16H25NO4 with molar mass of 295.374 g/mol. It is known to have erythrocytic metabolism by hydrolysis with help of esterases. This injection shows protein binding ability of about 60% with 9 minutes of elimination half life. Esmolol Hydrochloride Injection is considered as cardioselective beta-1 receptor blocker with ability to exert its curative effects rapidly.
